I started Town & Gown Sitters because I saw a gap that nobody was filling and as a mom of five, I felt it personally.
College towns are full of incredible families and incredibly qualified students, and yet finding trustworthy childcare still felt like a shot in the dark. I knew there had to be a better way.
I built this service from the ground up in State College, Pennsylvania, home of Penn State and the community that proved this idea works. Every vetting process, every match, every standard we hold ourselves to came from real experience in a real college town. Town & Gown Sitters exists because childcare is too important to leave to chance. Every sitter in our network has been personally interviewed, background-checked, and matched with intention. Every family is treated like a neighbor, not a number. That's not just how we started, it's the standard we bring to every town we serve.
